DESCRIPTION:We are excited to share a recap of our recent Hour of Code event\, organized by uOttawa’s ACM-W Student Chapter\, which took place on December 6th\, 2023\, at Elgin Street Public School. \nThis event was specially tailored for grade 3 students\, aiming to introduce them to the exciting world of coding and computer science in a fun and engaging way. The day was filled with interactive activities that allowed the students to explore the basics of programming. From creating their first lines of code to designing simple animations\, the students were eager to learn and experiment with new concepts. \nWe would like to express our gratitude to Elgin Street Public School for hosting us and to all the volunteers who dedicated their time and effort to make this event possible. Special thanks to the grade 3 students for their enthusiasm and creativity throughout the day. We would like to thank ACM\, Association for Computing Machinery for their invaluable support in carrying out this event. \n

Namrata Bagaria\, the founder of an age-tech company\, delivered an inspiring talk and participated in the panel session. \nWhile Dr.Sawsan Abdul-Majid\, P.Eng\, SMIEEE was unable to attend; however\, her company\, ANCWT\, was well represented\, showcasing the work in her absence.
